Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect personal information, and how to access it, correct it or raise a concern.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

We generally collect only the information we need to respond to you and to provide our services. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number and location;
  • details of what you are looking for, such as your budget, preferred areas, property requirements and intended use;
  • information you choose to give us in an enquiry, message or conversation;
  • technical information about your visit, such as your browser, device, approximate location and the pages you view.

Where it is lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym — though this may limit what we can do for you.

How we collect it

We usually collect information directly from you: through forms on this website, through our enquiry tools where they appear on the websites of partners we work with, or when you contact us by phone, email or in person. We may also collect information from third parties such as referral partners or service providers, where you would reasonably expect us to do so.

Why we collect and use it

We use personal information for purposes connected with our business, including to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide information about properties;
  • identify and present options that may suit your requirements;
  • arrange or facilitate related services where you ask us to;
  • improve our services, website and communications;
  • meet our legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.

Who we share it with

To provide our services we may disclose relevant information to others, including:

  • builders, developers, project marketers, agents or other suppliers, where this is necessary to progress an enquiry or provide information you have requested;
  • brokers, financial or professional service providers, where you ask us to assist with a referral;
  • service providers who support our business, such as customer relationship management, hosting, communications, marketing and analytics providers;
  • our related entities and business partners;
  • others where you consent, or where we are permitted or required by law.

We do not sell personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the people and service providers we work with may be located outside Australia, or may store or process information overseas — for example in the Philippines. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website and enquiry tools may use cookies and similar technologies to help the site function, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, and the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) to measure how well our advertising works. These tools collect information such as the pages you view, the device and browser you use, your approximate location and, in the case of advertising, whether you arrived from one of our ads. We do not use them to collect your name, address or the details of your enquiry.

When you send us an enquiry, we also record how you found our website, such as which of our ads or which search you came from, so we know which of our advertising works. Your browser remembers this for up to 30 days after your visit, and it is stored with your enquiry.

Where you submit an enquiry form, the contact details you provide — such as your name, email address and phone number — may be converted into a scrambled code (a one-way “hash”) and sent to Meta, either from your browser or from our server, so it can tell whether your enquiry came from one of our ads. Meta does not receive those details in readable form, and we do not send it the content of your enquiry or the property you asked about. We use this only to measure and improve our advertising.

Google and Meta are based overseas and may store and process this information outside Australia. You can limit this at any time: turn off ad personalisation in your Meta account settings, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser. Choosing any of these will not affect your enquiry or the service you receive from us.

Marketing and how to opt out

We may contact you about properties, services or updates we think may be relevant, where permitted by law. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe option in a message or by contacting us, and we will action your request promptly.

Keeping information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Use our contact form to make a request. We may need to verify your identity, and in limited circumstances permitted by law we may decline a request and will explain why.

Making a complaint

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, you can raise it with us and we will acknowledge it, look into it, and respond to you within a reasonable period — usually within 30 days.

Use our contact form and select Privacy request or complaint, and it will reach the right person.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Other websites

Our website and tools may link to, or appear on, websites operated by others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The current version will always be available on this page.
